A source told The Sun: “Natalie was a great signing and bosses were really impressed with her performance so invited her back for a second stint.

“Things are set to unravel for Theo following his abuse of boyfriend Todd so it was only right that Danielle returns in the aftermath of it all.”

Prior to Corrie, actress Natalie was best known to fans for her role as Alicia Gallagher in Emmerdale.

She played the part for five years before walking away for good in 2015.

As well as her time in Emmerdale, Natalie also appeared briefly in Hollyoaks in 2021, where, she played the role of D.S. Lexi Calder who was killed by Silas the serial killer.

Natalie also took on the role of Claire Walker in the Michelle Keegan-led Netflix drama, Fool Me Once.

As well as that, she has enjoyed guest roles in Happy Valley and Boiling Point.

Meanwhile, it comes after The Sun revealed how the actor James Cartwright, who plays Natalie’s character Danielle’s ex-husband Theo, is leaving Coronation Street.

As mentioned, his character is currently involved in a storyline where he is abusing Todd Grimshaw.

Over the last few months viewers have been left shocked as they have watched this plot play out.
