Authorities have identified a teenager who died after a car crashed into a river as the search for a second teen who disappeared in the crash continues.
The crash took place on Tuesday, March 17, when a car carrying three teenage girls and two teenage boys exited North Brink Road in Wisbech St. Mary, England, and landed in the River Nene around 8:20 p.m. local time, according to the Cambridgeshire Constabulary Police Department.
Two of the girls and one boy were able to escape the vehicle with non-life-threatening injuries, while the body of the third girl was recovered from the water.
The deceased teen has since been identified as 16-year-old Eden Bunn, of Sutton Bridge, according to a news release from police shared on Thursday, March 19.
Eden’s family — including her parents Lisa and Dean, brother Jay, sister Shelby and nephew Axl — remembered her as the “kindest, most loving girl we could ever wish for.”
“Her horses – Daisy and Dolly – were her world, and she was ours,” they added in a statement released by police. “Words cannot describe the tragedy that will stay with us until we are able to meet her again.”

Meanwhile, police said the search continues for 18-year-old Declan Berry, of Wisbech, who is believed to have been driving the blue Volkswagen Polo at the time of the crash.
“We are absolutely devastated beyond words and ask for privacy during this tragic time,” Delcan’s family and friends said in a separate statement.
Detective Investigator Craig Wheeler of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said police remain focused on locating Declan.
Although the “challenging nature of the river” is impacting their efforts, Wheeler said “there will be an increased police presence along the River Nene whilst we continue our efforts to find him.”

“This is a truly devastating collision, for all involved,” Wheeler added. “My thoughts are with the friends and family of Eden and Declan during this truly horrific time.”
