Legendary singer Rod Stewart has sparked concern among fans after abruptly cancelling two scheduled performances in Las Vegas due to health issues.
The 81-year-old music icon had been due to perform at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on May 29 and 30. However, just hours before the first concert was set to begin, the shows were suddenly called off.
A spokesperson confirmed that the decision was made following medical advice, explaining that Rod had been instructed by doctors to rest. Despite the disappointment, the singer is expected to return to the stage on June 2.
Addressing fans directly, Rod shared a heartfelt message, saying: “My apologies to my family of fans. I am on vocal rest as I recover from a sinus infection. I look forward to seeing you at a future show at Caesars Palace or on tour this summer.”
The update immediately triggered concern among supporters, many of whom flooded social media with messages of support and well wishes.
One fan wrote: “Hope he’s OK.”
Another commented: “Here’s hoping he gets better soon.”
A third added: “Sure hope Rod is OK!”
Others stressed that his health should come first, with one supporter writing: “Sad but more concerned that he stays well.”
The latest setback comes less than a year after Rod was forced to cancel several other performances at the same Las Vegas venue due to health concerns. At the time, he revealed he had been ordered to rest by doctors after feeling unwell.
Despite the recent cancellations, Rod has shown no signs of slowing down completely. Earlier this month, he revealed he still has dozens of performances planned this year and remains passionate about entertaining audiences around the world.
However, he also hinted that the end of an era may be approaching. Speaking about his future plans, Rod revealed that he intends to undertake what could be his final major UK tour in 2027.
“I shoot off to Vegas for seven concerts there, and then about another ten. I’ve got about 40-odd shows this year. That’s not really enough,” he said.
Looking further ahead, Rod added: “Then I’m touring the UK next year, doing The O2, and that’ll probably be it, I think. I’ll have to do something new, come on your show more often, maybe.”
For now, fans are simply hoping the beloved star makes a full recovery and returns to the stage as planned.
