Jeff Brazier was surrounded by family and close friends as he hosted an emotional farewell gathering for his son Bobby Brazier ahead of the actor’s upcoming move to the United States.
The television presenter, 47, shared a heartfelt glimpse into the evening on social media, revealing that the occasion carried even greater significance because it coincided with what would have been the 45th birthday of Bobby’s late mother, Jade Goody.

The intimate celebration took place at Jeff’s home, where loved ones gathered to wish Bobby well before he embarks on a new chapter of his life in New Jersey. While the evening was filled with warmth and support, Jeff admitted it was also an emotionally charged occasion.
Posting a family photograph from the gathering, Jeff wrote: “A wonderful little gathering last night.”
He explained that several guests had come together to wish Bobby safe travels before his move, adding: “There were a few people wanting to wish Bobby safe travels because he soon departs for his NY adventures! I’m going to miss him so much!”
The timing of the event made it particularly poignant, as the family also took a moment to remember Jade Goody, who died in March 2009 at the age of just 27 following a battle with cervical cancer.

Jeff continued: “And also to raise a glass for what would have been Jade’s 45th birthday.”
Reflecting on the emotional evening, he added: “Lots of emotions swirling as you can imagine. Think I’m going to go and move my body before I actually have to say goodbye to the kid.”
Bobby, now 23, recently confirmed that he will be relocating to the United States this summer. Speaking about the move earlier this month, he revealed: “You know I’m actually moving to New York. Well I say New York, in New Jersey,” before confirming that he plans to relocate in July.
The move marks another major milestone for the actor, who rose to prominence after joining EastEnders in 2022 as Freddy Slater. His performance quickly earned widespread praise, and he later won the National Television Award for Rising Star.
Bobby’s popularity soared even further when he competed on Strictly Come Dancing, finishing as runner-up behind Ellie Leach. One of the most memorable moments of his time on the show was a deeply moving routine dedicated to his late mother, which resonated strongly with viewers across the country.

Despite his growing fame, Bobby has often insisted that success has not changed him. Speaking previously about life in the spotlight, he joked that he had “spent lots of money” following his rise to fame but remained focused on his personal life rather than public attention.
He laughed as he recalled the reaction from viewers, saying: “But I did see that a lot of older ladies liked my hips and I loved that.”
In recent years, Bobby has also spoken openly about his spiritual journey and interest in the Hare Krishna faith, regularly sharing messages about the religion on social media.
As he prepares to leave Britain behind and begin a new adventure across the Atlantic, Jeff’s farewell gathering highlighted just how much the move means to the family. For the presenter, it was a night filled with pride, memories and sadness — saying goodbye to a son beginning a new chapter while remembering the woman who remains at the heart of their family story.
