Recently, Carla Connor and Lisa Swain have been looking after Carla’s baby niece Connie. Connie is the daughter of criminal Rob Donovan and prison guard Mandy Waring.
However, in forthcoming scenes, Carla receives a call from the social worker and her expression drops. Later, Carla and Lisa gather Connie’s belongings and inform Betsy that the social worker has made contact and Connie will be going back to her grandmother’s house.
This isn’t the sole departure teased as Carl Webster, who has brought nothing but turmoil during his stint on the cobbles, attempts to blackmail biological mother Debbie Webster into handing over the hotel to him.
However, after Debbie’s husband Ronnie Bailey gets wind of Carl’s plans and begs her not to give into his demands, Debbie tells her son he’s not having the hotel but she’ll give him some cash and she never wants to see him again. Later in the week, Debbie hands him an envelope full of cash and makes it clear she never wants to see him again. Is this the last of Carl?
Elsewhere, another potential departure is Jodie Ramsey. Having made her first appearance during the Corriedale crossover earlier this year, Jodie has brought nothing but turmoil and intrigue to Weatherfield.
As her past catches up with her next week, Jodie’s frantic sister Shona insists she must flee immediately for her own wellbeing. Will Jodie depart and will her tangled web of deceit unravel?
Also next week, following months of harrowing abuse from husband Theo Silverton, Todd Grimshaw, who courageously reported Theo to the police on Wednesday, is planning to leave Weatherfield to visit his mum Eileen and brother Jason in Thailand. Will he manage to get away, or does Theo have other ideas?

Wedding bells
In spoilers next week, Lisa and Carla finally have their wedding day(Image: ITV)
Spoilers for next week reveal that Lisa and Carla’s big day finally arrives, though the drama continues. The pair learn that flooding has damaged the hotel’s function room, leaving the venue with no choice but to call off the booking.
Ryan Connor delivers the disappointing news to Carla and Lisa that their wedding cannot proceed as planned. However, Ryan reassures Lisa that what matters most to Carla is marrying her, not having an elaborate celebration.
With the original venue unavailable, Lisa orchestrates a romantic gesture to ensure the wedding still takes place. Under the pretence that Debbie has arranged a complimentary lunch, she brings Carla to The Chariot Square hotel, where Carla is surprised to find a corner beautifully decorated with a wedding arch.
When Lisa insists they don’t require a grand ballroom to exchange vows, Carla is delighted. Their nearest and dearest look on as Carla and Lisa make their way down the aisle side by side.
Later on, while back on the street, Carla becomes annoyed when the factory alarm sounds and maintains she must deal with it. But it turns out to be part of a lovely surprise – upon entering the factory, Carla is stunned to find all their friends gathered inside, with the entire space transformed for the wedding reception.
Meanwhile, while the nuptials unfold, the mystery whodunnit also develops…
Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV and ITV X.
