“Perfect Timing?” Ruth Langsford Breaks Her Silence With Tell-All Book Just as Eamonn Starts a New Life. Ruth Langsford Wants to ‘Draw a Line Under the Past’ With Eamonn Holmes Through an Empowering Memoir

Ruth Langsford is determined to close a painful chapter of her life as she prepares to release an “empowering” new memoir following her split from ex-husband Eamonn Holmes.

The former This Morning host, 65, ended her 27-year relationship with the broadcaster, 66, in June 2024. Now, she is said to be “officially and emotionally” done — with the publication of her book marking a clear line under their marriage.

Ruth’s announcement comes just days after it emerged that Eamonn had bought a plush new home with his girlfriend Katie Alexander, 44, a timing insiders say is anything but accidental.

A source explained that the decision was deliberate, saying the book launch was “really all about the timing” and that it was “no accident” Ruth shared the news shortly after details of Eamonn’s new love nest became public. However, the insider stressed that Ruth’s focus isn’t on bitterness, adding that she is “empowering herself” and feeling “really good at the minute.”

After nearly three decades together — including 14 years of marriage — Ruth is ready to speak openly about her journey in her upcoming memoir, Ruth Langsford: Feeling Fabulous, which is set for release on February 26. The book promises to explore the highs, the lows and the life lessons that have shaped her into the woman she is today.

“She wants to draw a line under everything with Eamonn, officially and emotionally. The book is her way of doing that,” another source told The Mirror.

While both Ruth and Eamonn have largely avoided discussing one another publicly since their split, the Loose Women star has now chosen to reclaim her voice. Sharing her excitement on Instagram, Ruth admitted she feels both thrilled and nervous about publishing her first book, describing it as an honest account of the good, the bad and everything in between.

She explained that the memoir reflects the experiences that have shaped her and the lessons she has learned along the way, adding that she hopes readers will enjoy reading it as much as she enjoyed writing it.

Meanwhile, Eamonn has moved on swiftly with Katie, who is 22 years his junior. The couple recently purchased a property in Holywood, Northern Ireland, reportedly designed to accommodate Eamonn’s mobility needs. According to a report in The Sun, the house will serve as a cosy retreat where they can build a fresh start together, free from memories of the past.

Ruth, by contrast, has remained single and previously revealed she has been attending therapy following the breakdown of her marriage — a step that insiders say has played a key role in her healing and renewed sense of confidence.
